University websites

One template family for the main site, faculties, departments and directorates.

The Directorate builds and hosts the University website and the sites of faculties, departments, centres and units. A unit keeps its own news and people up to date after training. Design and structure stay with the Directorate.

What we provide

  1. Main University website — highlights, about, academics, admissions, research, library, TETFund, centres and directorates, portals, support services, campus life, news and contact.
  2. Faculty, school, centre, directorate and division websites — leadership, programmes or services, research where relevant, people, news and contact.
  3. Department and unit websites — the same pattern one level down, linked from the parent site.

What a unit should expect

  • The same layout language as the rest of SLUK, so a visitor can move from the main site to a department without learning a new menu.
  • A named owner in the unit who can update news, people and documents after training.
  • A link from the parent faculty, school or directorate, and from the main University site.
  • Room to add programmes, publications and events without a redesign.

Request a site or a change

The request form is not yet published. Until then, use the steps below.

  1. The dean, director or head of department writes to the Directorate naming the unit, the site owner and the content lead.
  2. The Directorate confirms which template applies: faculty, department, centre or directorate.
  3. The unit supplies the records the template requires. Missing records stay marked until they are real.
  4. After training, the unit maintains its own news and people. Structure and design stay with the Directorate.
